Almost two years ago, the founders of MEOW Magazine leapt off a cliff to launch a truly independent local multimedia magazine. On May 28 at Hotel Congress, MEOW Magazine is celebrating their launch.
The night opens at 8pm and goes until the bouncers kick us out.
At this event we are featuring the new series from artist Rudy Flores with his new 8-bit Tucson series. Prints of this new series will be available for purchase from the artist.
We are also bringing Tucson's premiere printers CREAM Design and Print to live print limited MEOW T-Shirts (stay tuned to this event to see the design announcements).
We have flown out the lovable lothario, Swerf, to host the event. Live music will be provided by Cash Lansky, Lenguas Largas, Lola Torch, ELIAS and Flight 13. Bank Notes will be providing dance tunes for the rest of the evening.
Oh, and we are bringing a human-sized cat castle for a photobooth.
A week before this event we are launching our crowdfunding campaign. Our goal is to launch an independent magazine without using investors, so that we can maintain our devotion to you, our audience. We will gladly accept donations toward this cause.
MEOW Magazine produces online media (digital columns, calendars, videos, and podcasts. In the fall, they will produce their first print publication.
